Growing Partnerships

From September 2020 applicants to the Community of the Tree of Life may choose to integrate our formation year with an academic course of study, with a church internship or with part time work.

New Wine Discipleship Year:

The Diocese of Leicester has a partnership with the New Wine Discipleship Year through which 18-25 year old’s can explore working with a church for a year. As a Community we already offer some teaching input to this programme. Anyone now looking for a second year of exploring vocation and church ministry will be encouraged to apply to the Community for next September.

Institute for Children, Youth & Mission (iCYM):

The Institute for Children, Youth and Mission is moving its teaching centre to Leicester. They will be based just across the Cathedral Gardens from us in St Martins House from the beginning September 2020. We share the vision and values of iCYM and hope that this will become a fruitful partnership with younger single students applying to join the Community for a year (or more) of their training. We are also looking forward to developing some shared rhythms of prayer and worship with the students and staff of iCYM.

St Mellitus:

In partnership with St Mellitus East Midlands we are pleased to be exploring the potential for younger single Ordinands to be based at the Community as the primary placement during their training.

We’re excited by the opportunity to contribute to the formation of young leaders through these diverse pathways. The heart of our vision is to see a rising generation of leaders going deeper in prayer and equipping them to develop spiritual practices and sustainable patterns of Christian life for the long term.
